This maul is a two-handed warhammer of enormous size. Orcish carvings line its shaft, while the carving of a giant eye adorns the face of each hammerhead.

The abilities of the Maul of Gruumsh are unknown.
It can only be wielded by an orc-blooded worshipper of Gruumsh.
Anyone who is not will lose 1 level so long as it is held and take necromantic damage.
For those who are orc-blooded but not a worshipper of Gruumsh, they do not lose a level and do not take necromantic damage.
Instead they must make a will save. The results of a failed are not known, but could force the wielder to Gruumsh's cause.

A maul is a two-handed martial weapon that deals 1d10 bludgeoning damage, and x3 damage on a critical hit (natural 20).

    History

  • The "Maul of Gruumsh" was being wielded by Krull, the supposed chosen of Gruumsh.
  • The Wanderers of the Wyld defeated Krull and his demon and orc minions beneath the Grey Citidel.
  • As Ellie Appletall sought to discern the mystical properties of the "Maul of Gruumsh", she felt evil divine energy coursing through her that drained her lifeforce until she released it from her grasp.
  • Vanark Tork then grasped the Maul of Gruumsh to see if it would work for one who is orc-blooded. It took every ounce of will Vanark had to stay true to himself and release it from his grasp.
  • Vanark Tork claims he needs to take the "Maul of Gruumsh" to the Fetid Fens to keep it safe from the orcs.
