Town of Astera
Last updated: November 10, 2025
The Town of Astera can sometimes feel cold and indifferent to new folk.
The town is in a valley near snow-capped mountains filled with jagged trails buffetted by ancient winds.
An old forest is just outside of town. Orcish warbands have been sweeping across the countryside.
Amber Bearkin is member of the Bearkin Clan that roam and hunt outside the mountain, instead of living inside the
dwarven stronghold within.
Rollo Moonrock has become one with the green, and thrives in the forest.
The Trip Away Inn and Outdoor Market is a few days out of town.
Astera's Town Square
Used to train and muster the town's militia.
Street urchins and thugs roam the streets all over Astera.
Tharivol, an old half-blind elven ranger keeps an eye on things, as does his protege Himo.
Avery's Novel Little Bookshop
A quaint, lantern-lit shop tucked between leaning chimneys
Crooked shelves are filled with tomes - scrolls bound in dragonhide, journals inked with starlight,
words that hummed with forgotten power.
Avery recently acquired a new assistant, Weaver Bigfoot.
Has a book stall at the Outdoor Market next to the Trip Away Inn.
Banner's Brokerage
Banner's Brokerage is run by Banner, a dwarven merchant, who has a bad reputation.
He recently scammed Dreet the Kobold Bard and Dwarf Friend out of her beer equipment
by taking her money but refusing to deliver the goods.
He also had three goons to help him collect "protection" fees from nearby shops.
He was recently arrested by the towns guard after his thugs confessed and implicated him
after a recent encounter with a group of adventurers.
Banner curses those bunch of random dudes as he stews in his jail cell, especially the one called "The Grimm".
Overcobble Pub
This is a run down building in need of significant repairs before it can host patrons.
It is run by Dreet the Kobold Bard and Dwarf Friend and her tribe of kobolds.
They recently had the adventurers clear out a rat and spider problem from the cellar.
Those same adventurers got their beer equipment back from Banner, the criminal dwarven merchant.
Now that they have their own place the Undercobble tribe can now proudly be called the Overcobble tribe.
Dreet has promised those bunch of random dudes free drinks for life at the Overcobble Pub - once they are open.
Dreet has a special fondness for Amber Bearkin, as she protected her in her time of need
and helped fulfill her tribes dream.
Mayor of Astera
The Mayor of Astera can muster the town's militia when needed.
He recently drafted a bunch of random dudes and sent them out on patrol where they dealt with a group of outcast
and cowardly orc raiders outside of town.
Tinkers' Guild
The Tinkers' Guild has many members.
Zorlan d'Cannith is one of the Guildmasters
Drakara Lonewalker is an apprentice
