Fiume is a large town on the Big Middle River, about 40 miles downstream as the crow flies from the source of the Big Middle River,
Fiume is the industrial center of Kern. This is where the milling and textile manufacturing occurs. Consequently, the air here carries the odor of lye, inks, and solvents and the industrial waste pollutes the water up to two miles downstream.
The most important noble here is Lord Berto Dumblebale whose family owns most of the mills and factories.
