Rogue a.k.a. "Pancake"

Last Updated: October 21, 2024

Rogue is a rogue at heart and takes the teachings of Tymora literally.

Chapter 1

Rogue failed a poison save from a small spider bite, sapping some of her strength (3 points).
Bunsen Daburner, the male human ranger, was able to stop the poison from getting worse (helped Rogue make second save).

Chapter 2

Rogue always had a problem with heights and avoided any "second storey" type jobs with the guild. As a result, she never really learned how to climb, much to her later detriment and which earned her the nickname "Pancake".

Rogue recovered a medium-sized masterwork shortsword from amongst the victims of the carrion crawler.

Chapter 3

Rogue has a new respect for kobolds and their natural cunning as trap makers. It was ingenious how they rigged that elf corpse to make it seem like it was still alive before a horde of kobolds ambushed them along with their pet weaels.

Chapter 4

Rogue could not believe her eyes when she saw the two gems they had recovered from the corpse of the kobold spell-caster, they were rare quartz, they were rich, each of them had to be worth at least 1,000 gp (note: Rogue had rolled a 1 on her appraise check). Billie didn't believe her and checked them herself. Billie, being a dwarf and expert on all things stone, told Rogue that they were only worth 5 gp each, being a common quartz. Rogue hands them over to be part of the group kitty and spoils. However, she changes her mind, and gives up 10 gp from her share of the treasure to keep these rare quartz (just in case she was right all along and they are really worth 1,000 gp each).

Rogue should have known better about climbing down into a pit to retrieve some "shiny" metal items at the bottom, even with a rope, but her greed got the better of her healthy respect for heights, and she paid the price again when the weak ground gave way and she was left dangling helplessly...

Chapter 5

Defeated a monstrous centipede in the fog bank and was able to harvest its poison sack.

Found some nice loot in a chest, and a survivor (a halfling missing a foot) from Eric the Beserker's party. Rogues was able to disable the poison needle trap on the chest, and remove the poison vial for her own use.

Chapter 6

Using the loot and the gold that the mountain dwarf merchant, Samuel Goldbeard, had advanced her to investigate the disappearances at his mine, Rogue was able to purchase a set of masterwork thieves' tool from the Harborguard thieves' guild. Rogue also donated 20 gp for the group purchase of a second purchase of Wand of Cure Light Wounds.

Samuel Goldbeard also gives them each his token (gives a 25% discount from merchant's guild) when buying things, but she has to return the token before going to the mine, Rogue tries to forge a copy of the token, but it is to fancy, with magical enhancements.

During the first ambush by the dozen bullywugs, Rogue slew three of the buggers herself (ok Billie might have softened them up a bit).

Swimming through the swamp in search of the hydra lair, Rogue was viciously attacked by a giant eel, and almost died.

Wiccanesh Inn at edge of swamp road and forest road to mine, meet hobgoblin servants - offered food, Bunsen refuses to eat, so Rogue eats his bowl - attacked by fake hobgoblin servants, and fake patrons (goblins, gnolls and 1 ogre) - after battle, find kitchen is a slaughterhouse of humanoid corpses (including the heads of real hobgoblin servants) - Rogue throws-up, Billie has a stronger stomach

- Flashman and Rogue lured by Harpy song deeper into the woods - discover a shambling mound that attacks party as they chase Flashman and Rogue - kill it, while Harpies watch from a tree, they leave when food is too strong to eat - claims coming storm will kill them

When the three sealed doors in the main chamber of the Tor shattered, a swarm of rats spilled out. During the battle, one of them bit Rogue. Fortunately, Flashman was an excellent healer and was able to treat her wound to prevent disease.

Flashman looked at Rogue with both pity and concern as he told her to give the treasure back. It was the only way to stop the advancing mummy from slaying her and any who dared protect her. Flashman then fled down the hallway to ensure the young traumatized woman they had rescued at the Inn of Death was still safe.

Garakh the Fierce hissed in frustration at Rogue. The fool of a thief did not realize the danger she was in until it was too late. Overwhelmed with despair as she realized the mummy would never stop hunting her for the treasure she had taken from its burial chamber, Rogue was unable to move as the mummy advanced towards her. Garakh ripped the treasure from Rogue's hands and threw it back in the burial chamber just in time. The mummy turned to collect its hoard, giving Garakh time to drag the paralyzed Rogue back down the hallway to the main chamber before it collapsed, sealing off the mummy's final resting place forever.

After the battle with the undead knight, Rogue did not find anything amiss with its dias. Billie, being a dwarf and expert on all things stone, found a secret compartment holding a masterwork composite longbow.
